Our non-profit club operates because of great volunteers like you!
If you have some interest in football, want to spend more time with your child on the field, or just enjoy helping youth in our community - we welcome you to complete a Raiders Coach Application.
We provide training and welcome all levels of experience to join us on the field.
*Note that all approved coaching staff must complete a criminal record check and review and sign the Raiders Coaching Code of Conduct.

Football Canada/BCPFA - Coaching Training Requirements
In addition to signing up to be a Raiders Coach, our governing bodies have outlined the requirements for being on the field as a coach. Find below some helpful information and links if you are interested in starting your coaching journey with the Comox Valley Raiders! - Safe Contact - (Course put on by Football BC)
- Making Ethical Decisions - (ViaSport or Pacific Sport)
- Novice Clinic - (Course put on by Football BC)
- Intro to Competition - (Will be offered as a clinic in each zone)

Register for an NCCP#
Free, quick and easy registration for all Canadians involved in coach education. Having an NCCP number will allow you to coach for any sport in Canada. If you already have one, you can skip this step! Register now

Making Head Way (online training)
This NCCP concussion awareness module is a requisite for coaching football in BC and throughout Canada. Register now

Rule of Two (online training)
The goal of the Rule of Two is to ensure all interactions and communications are open, observable and justifiable. It is one of three pillars of the Responsible Coaching Movement, along with background screening and ethics training. Register now

Anti-racism in Coaching (online training)
Coaches in Canada play an integral role in creating a fair and inclusive environment for their sport. While the impact of racism in sports and coaching can be far-reaching, so can the effects of anti-racism coaching education. Register now

NCCP Make Ethical Decisions Training
The National Coaching Certification (NCCP) offers coaches the opportunity for training and evaluation in ethical decision-making through the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions training, and online evaluation. Register now

Safe Contact Clinic (in-person training)
All member coaches must be Safe Contact trained in the latest safe blocking and tackling techniques. This requirement applies to any coach of an amateur team or club that falls under Football Canada’s umbrella. Any new coach has a year from the time he or she first steps on the field as a coach to complete the safe contact training. More info here

Novice Coach Training (in-person training)
Football BC requires that all coaches complete the components of the Novice Coach Training.
To complete the Novice Coach Program a coach will now need complete the following:
- Making Head Way in Football (Via NCCP Coach Locker) - FREE
- Safe Sport (Via NCCP Coach Locker) – FREE
- Make Ethical Decisions (MED) - club reimbursed cost
- Football Canada Online Component
