Sideline Cheer Squad
More Than Cheer — It’s Community
Our program is built on the heart of community sideline cheer: showing up, supporting others, and creating memorable experiences together. Cheerleaders aren’t just performers on the mat — they’re visible, active members of the community.
Throughout the season, our athletes have opportunities to participate in local parades, telethons, and community events, proudly representing their teams while giving back to the place they call home. These moments teach confidence, teamwork, and service — lessons that last far beyond the season.
On game days, cheerleaders play a central role in building school spirit. This year, we’re expanding our halftime performances, giving athletes more chances to showcase routines, creativity, and crowd engagement in front of a live audience. These performances focus on fun, teamwork, and growth — without the pressure of constant competition.
We also believe cheer should be accessible to more families. Our program is designed to be more affordable, while still offering quality coaching, skill development, and meaningful experiences for every athlete.
New this year, we’re excited to introduce a Showcase Event, giving cheerleaders the chance to perform their routines in a celebratory, supportive environment that highlights effort, progress, and team pride.
At its core, our program is about connection — to teammates, to schools, and to the wider community. It’s cheer with purpose, balance, and heart.
Our Raiders Cheer program is delivered by a VMFL certified cheer coach to ensure safe cheerleading skill development, spirit alongside the game of community football, in an all-inclusive environment.
Why Raiders Cheer?
All Raider programs must embody our Core Values of Excellence, Honour, Leadership, and Community. Like football, cheer embodies these important values. Our program was built with the following in mind:
- Discipline - an environment where preparation, practice and success aligns
- Sportsmanship - a focus on pride in successes and graceful acceptance of defeats, respect for fellow competitors
- Hard work - like with all sports, the effort put into improving skills will help achieve your full potential
- Community - by participating in activities both on and off the field cheer spreads spirit within the community
- Social skills - new friends, new places, and new opportunities to develop socially
- Leadership, Confidence, Self-Esteem - standing in front of an audience is no easy feat, cheer develops the skills to emerge as confident leaders both within the squad and throughout life
